01 / 3D printing technologies
Choose the Right Printing Technology
Your part’s geometry, finish and application decide the process; the material follows from it.
01 / FDMOfferedFDM / Plastic
Plastic filament laid down line by line. The lowest cost and the largest build volume — for early prototypes, jigs, fixtures and big parts.
- Build envelope
- 300 × 300 × 400 mm
- Minimum wall
- 0.8 mm
- Materials
- ABS, Nylon, PETG, PLA, TPU
02 / SLAOfferedSLA / Resin
Liquid resin cured by a laser, layer by layer. The finest detail and smoothest surface of the three — for visual prototypes, small precise parts and moulds.
- Build envelope
- 145 × 145 × 175 mm
- Minimum wall
- 0.4 mm
- Materials
- Standard resin, grey, Tough resin
02 / Material library
Materials for every kind of part.
Fine detail, everyday durability or a flexible, functional prototype. Each material says what it is good for and what it holds up to.

03 / Surface & finish
Function first.
Finish with intent.
Make the surface part of the specification. A display model, a fitted component and a workshop fixture need different things.

- 01
As printed
Straight from the printer. Layer lines and support marks can show.
- 02
Supports removed
Supports taken off and their marks cleaned up.
- 03
Sanded
Worked back by hand until the layer lines are gone.
- 04
Polished
Sanded and polished to a smooth, glossy surface.

A better file. A better first print.
Check these essentials before you upload. Open each item for the requirements your geometry is checked against.
6 checks before you send
My file is ready01Mind the thinnest wall
Each technology has a wall it can hold — 0.8 mm on plastic, 0.4 mm on resin. Every upload is measured against it, and anything thinner is flagged for an engineer rather than quietly printed.
02Keep overhangs under 45°
A face leaning more than 45° from vertical has to be held up while it prints, and the support shows where it was. Turning the part on the plate is often enough to avoid one.
03Give hollows a drain hole
A fully enclosed cavity traps resin or powder inside. Add at least one hole so it can run out — the analyser counts enclosed hollows and tells you when it finds them.
04Export a closed solid
A mesh with gaps has no measurable volume, so it cannot be priced. Export watertight; small patches are closed automatically, but large openings are rejected rather than guessed at.
05Fit the build volume
The largest we print is 300 × 300 × 400 mm, on FDM. A part bigger than every machine is refused at upload — split it, or ask about machining it instead.
06One part per body, up to 25
Each solid in the file is measured and priced on its own. An assembly of more than 25 bodies is too many to quote in one go; upload it in groups. Features under 3 mm overall are flagged as too small to print.
